Women's volleyball team falls to No. 1 Miami Dade in straight sets

The Eastern Florida State College women's volleyball team lost to No. 1 Miami Dade College in straight sets to wrap up the regular season.
The Titans, who finish 12-13 overall and 3-9 in the Citrus Conference, will be the No. 5 seed at the Region 8 Tournament which begins Nov. 7 at Florida Southwestern State College in Fort Myers.
On Wednesday night in Miami, the Titans battled the top team in the country in the first set as the two teams were tied 16-16. But the Sharks would finish strong, scoring three of the final 12 points to win the first set 25-19.
The Titans once again got behind early in the second set but rallied to get within four a couple of times. Miami Dade would go up 2-0 with the 25-17 win.
The third set was all Sharks as the No. 1 team in the country led 6-0 and went on to win the third set 25-10.
Sophomore Emma Cook led the team with eight kills, hitting .667 in the match while Mikayla Lamb finished with six.
Miami Dade finishes the season 22-2 overall and 11-1 in the conference.
