The Eastern Florida State College women's volleyball team will be back at Titan Field House Saturday afternoon for a big conference match.
The No. 16 ranked Titans will host No. 1 Florida Southwestern State College in a Citrus Conference match that will be shown live on WEFS-TV and online at the EFSC Titans YouTube page.
Eastern Florida State College has won its past two matches and is now 11-5 overall and 2-1 in the conference heading into a matchup with Florida Southwestern who is the defending national champions and No. 1 in the NJCAA Division I National Poll. The Bucs come into the match 14-1 overall and 3-0 in the conference.
Saturday will be the first of two meetings between the two teams as Florida Southwestern has won nine matches in a row against the Titans.
Florida Southwestern's Sara Gamboa leads the state in kills per set with 3.85. Teammate Irina Makinen is leading the state in assists per set averaging 9.38 which is also fourth in the nation.
Eastern Florida State College's Leyre Arroyo Sanchez is fourth in the state in kills per set, averaging 3.56 while teammate Jordyn Cox is fifth in the state, averaging 3.25 kills per set. Angelis Figueroa is second in the FCSAA in digs (217) and digs per set (4.02).
Saturday's match will begin at 2 p.m. at Titan Field House and admission is free to home matches.
