Women's volleyball team hosts No. 1 Miami Dade Saturday

The Eastern Florida State College women's volleyball team starts the second round of the conference schedule Saturday, hosting Miami Dade College at Titan Field House.

The No. 15 ranked Titans have won four conference matches in a row and sit in third place at the halfway mark of the conference season. Eastern Florida State College will host a Miami Dade College team that is unbeaten at 6-0 in the conference and is No. 1 in the national poll. In the first meeting this season, the Titans won the first set, but the Sharks came back to win the next three in a four-set win. In that match, sophomore Dominae Jordan finished with 15 kills.

Jordan is 13 kills away from 200 on the season and is averaging 3.67 kills per set this season, both in the top five in the state. The outside hitter has been playing well during the four-match win streak, averaging 12 kills per match during the stretch.

The Sharks defeated Daytona State College in five sets on Wednesday and have won 15 straight matches. Miami Dade is led by a strong group of players as Mia Martinez leads the FCSAA and is ninth in the nation with 5.08 digs per set. Teammate Esthefany Rabit is averaging 1.20 blocks per set while Katielle Altagracia Alonzo Vargas is averaging 3.58 kills per set this season.
