Women's soccer team falls to Miami Dade at home

The Eastern Florida State College women's soccer team lost a Region 8 Conference game Wednesday night at Orlando Health Stadium on the Melbourne campus.
The Titans lost to Miami Dade College 2-1 and is now 3-3 on the season.
Eastern Florida State College got on the board first just eight minutes into the contest as a cross went off Miami Dade goalkeeper Ashley Fonseca and Maja Lundin took advantage, burying the shot and giving the Titans a 1-0 lead.
It was Lundin's second goal of the season.
Less than a minute later Miami Dade had a good chance as a foul in the box led to a penalty kick. Camila Martins Viera stepped to the line and hit a good shot Eastern Florida State College goalkeeper Lira Adamski read it and made the save to keep the lead.
Martins Viera did tie the game 14 minutes later as Miami Dade took possession at half, two quick passes found Viera open and she put it in the corner to tie the game.
It would go to halftime tied 1-1.
A little over 15 minutes into the second half another penalty was called in the box, giving Miami Dade another penalty kick. This time Martins Viera made the penalty kick to give the Sharks a 2-1 lead.
The Titans had a couple of chances late but the Sharks held on for a 2-1 win. It was the first Region 8 Conference win for Miami Dade College.
Adamski made eight saves in the game.
Eastern Florida State College will travel to South Carolina for a pair of non-conference games over the weekend. They will play Cape Fear at 2 p.m. on Saturday and then host USC Lancaster Sunday at 1 p.m.
