The Eastern Florida State College women's golf team is in third place after the first round of the NJCAA Division I Southeast District Championship.
The Titans shot a 321 Monday at Mystic Dunes Golf Club in Kissimmee and trail Seminole State College by 10 strokes heading into the final round on Tuesday morning.
"A tough course and a tough day for all four teams," Eastern Florida State College women's golf coach Jamie Howell said. "Nine shots out of second can turn around quickly at Mystic Dunes. We need to find a cleaner line around the course."
Sophomore Ann Burel shot a 79 in the first round and is in eighth place overall. After a tough start, she shot 1-over on the back nine.
Teammates Blair Powers and Margaux Blais each shot 7-over 80 and are tied for ninth. Mila Tang is tied for 12th at nine over and Vivian Luu shot a 10-over 83.
The final round is scheduled for Tuesday morning with the Titans teeing off at 7:30 a.m.
