Women's basketball team plays in FCSAA Championship semifinals tonight

For the fifth straight season, the Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team will play in the FCSAA Championship semifinals.
The Titans came in as the No. 8 seed and defeated the No. 1 seed and defending national champions Northwest Florida State College in the quarterfinals on Thursday. Now they turn their attention to No. 4 seed Gulf Coast State College.
The game is a rematch of last season's quarterfinal game in which the Titans won 80-75.
Gulf Coast State College defeated Florida Southwestern State College to advance to tonight's semifinal. The Commodores are 19-7 this season and ranked 20th in the NJCAA Division I National Poll. They won the first meeting back in December, 76-71 at Gulf Coast State College.
Eastern Florida State College is looking to get back to the FCSAA Championship final for the first time since 2023 and just the second time in school history.
Shadia Lara Santacruz led the Titans with 13 points, eight rebounds and five assists with three steals on Thursday night. Santacruz has had at least 10 points in each of the past three games and is averaging 9.9 points and 5.7 rebounds this season.
Angela Mirkovic had four 3-pointers against Northwest Florida State College on Thursday and has made at least two 3-pointers in each of the past four games. The freshman has scored at least 12 points in each of those games and is averaging 9.3 points per game.
Grace Strickland, who missed the first meeting with Gulf Coast State College, hit three 3-pointers against Northwest Florida State College and finished with 12 points. The sophomore has hit at least one 3-pointer in each of the past four games.
