Women's basketball team loses conference game on road

The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team got off to a slow start and lost a conference game on the road Wednesday night.

The Titans are now 5-10 in the conference with three games remaining after the 71-59 loss.  

Eastern Florida State College fell behind early in the first quarter but finished on a run to trail by seven.

Milica Lazarevic scored nine of the team's 11 points in the second quarter as St. Petersburg College went into halftime with a 41-23 lead.

The Titans would cut the lead 10 points but could not get any closer in the second half.

Lazarevic scored 24 points in the loss.

Eastern Florida State College will travel to Hillsborough Community College on Saturday. The game will begin at 2 p.m.
