Women's basketball team picks up conference win on the road

The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team held on for a Citrus Conference win on Saturday afternoon.
The Titans defeated Santa Fe College 50-48 to pick up their first conference win of the season.
Eastern Florida State College got off to a slow start in the first quarter but a big 3-pointer at the end of the quarter by Grace Strickland got the Titans started.
In the second quarter the duo of Angela Mirkovic and Ofir Parpara combined for 15 of the team's 17 points as the Titans led 24-22 at halftime.
Mirkovic continued her strong play in the third quarter, scoring seven points as the Titans would rally from eight points down to lead 42-40 heading to the fourth quarter.
Things would get tight in the final minute but the Titans hung on as Angelina Spence had a big steal on an inbounds pass to help seal the win.
Mirkovic finished with a team-high 19 points while Parpara had 15 in the win.
Eastern Florida State College will play Florida Southwestern State College on Wednesday evening at FSW. The conference game will begin at 5 p.m.
