Women's basketball team tops Tallahassee

The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team picked up a win at home on Tuesday night.
The Titans defeated Tallahassee State College 85-77 at Titan Field House to improve to 4-3 on the season.
Tallahassee, who is now 6-4 on the season, jumped out to a quick 7-2 lead and caused an Eastern Florida State College timeout. It calmed the Titans down and they would finish the first quarter on a 11-2 run.
They would keep the lead throughout the second quarter and went into halftime leading 40-30.
The lead would stretch to 12 by the end of the third quarter, but Tallahassee made an 8-0 run to get back into the contest in the final minutes of the game. Shadia Lara Santacruz and Angelina Spence hit their free throws in the final minute of the game to lock up the victory.
Angela Mirkovic led the Titans with 19 points which was a season high for the freshman forward. Teammate Santacruz also had a season high with 18 points while Aniyah Johnson and Bruna DaSilva each had 15 points.
Ashantay Noble led all scorers with 24 points while Alahni Lovett had 13 for the Eagles.
Eastern Florida State College will travel to Gulf Coast State College to play Pensacola State College on Friday at 5:30 p.m. and then host Gulf Coast State College on Saturday at 3 p.m.
The Titans will return home for the Citrus Conference opener on Wednesday night at Titan Field House.
