The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team could not rebound from a slow start, falling to No. 9 Shelton State at the Lady Jets Holiday Classic in Americus, Georgia.
The 23rd ranked Titans fell behind early and couldn't recover, losing 68-44 Monday afternoon and is now 12-4 on the season.
Eastern Florida State College cut the 16-point lead back to 10 on an Amanda Baumgarte 3-pointer with five minutes left in the second quarter. A 3-pointer with two seconds remaining put Shelton State's lead back to 18 heading to the fourth quarter.
Jalei O'Neal scored 11 points and had six rebounds while teammate Ashleigh Battle had 10 points.
The Titans will wrap up the tournament Tuesday afternoon at noon against Northeast Mississippi Community College.
