Aracelis Jimenez named FCSAA Softball Player of the Week
Eastern Florida State College softball outfielder Aracelis Jimenez is named the FCSAA Division I Softball Player of the Week for the second time this season
Eastern Florida State College softball outfielder Aracelis Jimenez is named the FCSAA Division I Softball Player of the Week.
The sophomore centerfielder went 10-for-16 in four games last week and had at least two hits in every game. She scored seven runs and has now scored 75 times this season which is a program record.
Jimenez is now hitting .470 this season which is third in the FCSAA and the 10 hits gives her 85 on the season which is second in the state. She also had three stolen bases which gives her 38 on the season and is fifth in the state.
On sophomore day Jimenez went 6-for-8 in the doubleheader against the College of Central Florida, scoring five runs and drove in three runs.
It is the second time this season that Jimenez has been named the FCSAA Player of the Week.
The Titans are on the road today for a conference doubleheader against Santa Fe to wrap up the regular season. They have clinched a spot in the FCSAA Division I Softball Championships which begins May 13.
