The Eastern Florida State College softball team will hit the road for a key Citrus Conference doubleheader on Tuesday afternoon.
The Titans will travel to Daytona State College for a battle of top 25 teams beginning at 1 p.m.
Eastern Florida State College is No. 11 in the national poll and coming off a 4-0 week in which they averaged 16 runs per game and are 20-10 in the conference. Daytona State College is ranked No. 21 in the poll and are coming off a sweep against Hillsborough CC. The Falcons are 18-14 in the conference and are in the hunt for the final spot in the postseason.
The Titans offense had another big week and are second in the FCSAA in both batting average (.379) and runs scored (396). Aracelis Jimenez is fourth in the state in batting average, hitting .454 with 63 runs scored which is fourth in the state. Teammates Avery Velazquez and Annalyn Duncan are tied for fourth in the state with 11 home runs. Duncan leads the FCSAA in runs batted in with 74.
Daytona State College is hitting .318 on the season and is led by Azlynn Gomes who is hitting .401 with 16 doubles and has driven in 55 runs. Teammate Juleah Patterson is hitting .400 in 49 games this season.
