Softball team loses pair of conference games to Indian River State College

The Eastern Florida State College softball team lost a pair of games to No. 9 Indian River State College Friday at the USSSA Space Coast complex.
The 10th ranked Titans lost the first game 4-0 and then the second game 4-2 and are now 16-8 in the Citrus Conference. Indian River State College improves to 17-6 and are now in third place in the conference.
In the first game, Indian River State College scored in the first and fourth innings before adding two runs in the fifth inning.
Zoey Mills allowed one earned run over four innings, striking out three in the loss. Aracelis Jimenez had a triple for one of the Titans three hits.
In Game 2, the Titans tied the game 1-1 in the bottom of the first inning when Avery Jimenez scored on an error. Eastern Florida State College would take a 2-1 lead when Isabel Otero turned an errant throw into a run as she sprinted around the bases on a bad throw to first on a groundball.
The lead would not last as Indian River State College would score three times in the fifth inning to take the lead.
The Titans managed just one hit in the loss.
Eastern Florida State College will be back in action tomorrow as they travel to Florida Southwestern State College for a conference doubleheader. The first game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
