The Eastern Florida State College men's soccer team will face Daytona State College once again, this tie with a trip to the NJCAA Division I National Championship Tournament on the line.
The Titans shared the Region 8 Conference title with the Falcons and lost two of the three meetings heading into Saturday's final which will begin at 2 p.m. at Embry-Riddle.
"We have said for the last six games now that we just have to win the next one, just keep winning games," freshman Danilo Orsi-Dadomo said. "Come out here tomorrow and put in a good performance and get the result that we need."
That is just what they did on Friday afternoon, defeating Richard Bland College 2-0 in the first semifinal while Daytona State beat Georgia Military 7-0, setting up the rematch.
Orsi-Dadomo and Seigel Knight each scored in the game and the defense held Richard Bland at bay to pick up the shutout, the team's ninth of the season.
"I thought we played really, really well and executed the game plan. We dominated the game from start to finish, certainly would have been nice to create a few more chances and make our possession and territorial advantage pay off but we are happy with the result, happy with the clean sheet and happy to be moving on," Eastern Florida State men's soccer coach Oliver Twelvetrees said.
The two teams have split the two games at Embry-Riddle this season, each side winning by 3-0 scores.
With so much on the line, the Titans know they have to be at their best if they want to go back to Tyler, Texas for the national tournament.
"It would be nice to get the title, but we have to focus on resting and preparing correctly tonight because it is going to be hot again with the afternoon kickoff. We have to make sure we are mentally prepared to go out and take care of business," Orsi-Dadomo said.
