Titan men's soccer team to honor sophomores
The Eastern Florida State College men's soccer team will honor sophomores after Sunday's conference game against Broward College
For 10 sophomores, Sunday marks the final time they will walk onto the Titan Soccer Complex field as Titans.
The Eastern Florida State College men's soccer team plays its final home game of the season Sunday afternoon and will honor the 10 sophomores following the 1 p.m. game against Region 8 Conference foe Broward College.
"This is a really special group of sophomores that have come together from all over the globe and really put their heart and soul into the program," Eastern Florida State College men's soccer coach Oliver Twelvetrees said. "These guys are going to be lifelong Titans that have represented the program in the right way. They have epitomized what student athletes are by working hard on and off the pitch to achieve their goals."
Among the 10 sophomores all have been starters throughout the season as the Titans head into the regular-season finale 10-4 and will play in the NJCAA District Soccer Playoffs next week.
J.J. Donnelly heads into his final home match with 15 goals and 13 assists in his career, starting 30 of his 33 games.
Craig McCall is one of the leaders on the team, has started every game in his two seasons with the Titans and scored seven goals and assisted on 12 others.
Juan Parada was injured and is out for the rest of the season but had started all eight games before the injury, recording two goals and three assists.
Abdoulaye Cisse has come back from a knee injury and scored four goals this season. The forward comes into the final home game with eight goals and nine assists in two seasons with the Titans.
RuShane McClymont, Nate Grant, Bradley Franklin, Matt McLennon, Adolfo Peraza and Alex McLennon have all been part of a defense that has recorded seven shutouts and are allowing 1.11 goals per game this season which ranks 30th in the country.
"There has been immense growth in their development both as players and people with the sacrifice they have made in pursuit of success at Eastern Florida," Twelvetrees said. "These quality football-mad players have and will continue to mean so much to the program and are simply irreplaceable."
