Misael Cruz Rodriguez named FCSAA Division I Player of Week

Eastern Florida State College men's basketball player Misael Cruz Rodriguez was named the FCSAA Division I Player of the Week on Tuesday.

It is the first time Cruz Rodriguez has been named the player of the week this season.

The sophomore from Puerto Rico had a triple double in a win against Florida Southwestern State College on Saturday. Cruz Rodriguez finished with a season-high 24 points, grabbing 11 rebounds and dished out 10 assists in the contest.

In two games this week, Cruz Rodriguez averaged 17 points and 10.5 rebounds with seven assists. For the season he is averaging 13.1 points and 7.5 rebounds.

Eastern Florida State College will travel to Hillsborough Community College on Saturday for a Citrus Conference game. The game will begin at 4 p.m. following the women's basketball game.
