Men's basketball team defeats Polk State College for conference win

The Eastern Florida State College men's basketball team used a big second half to win their fourth straight Citrus Conference game on Saturday.
The Titans scored 51 points in the second half to defeat Polk State College 87-80 at Titan Field House.
The Titans went on an 11-0 run midway through the first half to take a 28-20 lead but Polk State College would battle back and take a 41-36 lead into halftime.
The second half was all Titans early on as they turned a five-point deficit into a five-point lead in the first five minutes of the second half. A Tyson Wilson basket gave the Titans a 10-point lead with under 14 minutes left in the contest.
Polk State College went on a 12-0 run to cut the Titans lead to 64-61 before a timeout. A Nick Oliver 3-pointer settled things and the Titans would keep the lead the rest of the way.
Three players finished with double-doubles in the game. Sean Register Jr. finished with a game-high 27 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for his ninth double-double of the season. Teammate Joviel Acevedo-Arroyo had 20 points and 11 rebounds while Wilson finished with 10 points and 14 rebounds. Misael Cruz Rodriguez also finished with 10 points in the game.
Polk State College was led by Isaiah McCray who had 21 points while Josh Pitts had 18 points.
Eastern Florida State College is now 5-3 in the conference and 16-6 overall. The Titans will be back at home on Wednesday night against Daytona State College in a conference matchup.
