The Eastern Florida State College men's basketball team used a big second-half run to pick up a conference win on Saturday.
The Titans defeated Hillsborough Community College 94-79 for their second Citrus Conference victory.
Eastern Florida State College jumped out to a 7-0 lead as Tyson Wilson had five of those seven as the Titans led throughout the first half.
Leading 41-28 at halftime, Hillsborough Community College went on a 9-0 run to cut the lead to three before a Wilson basket ended the run. The Hawks would take the lead with 7:15 left but Lana Agbelese tied it and was fouled to give the Titans the lead once again.
Tied with six minutes left in the game, Joviel Acevedo-Arroyo hit a 3-pointer to start a 16-0 run for the Titans as they would lead 78-62 after two free throws from Djiby Ly.
Acevedo-Arroyo led the Titans with 22 points, hitting four of six 3-pointers. Sean Register Jr. scored 21 points and grabbing seven rebounds while Ly had his first double double of the season with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Wilson and Jevon Yapi each had nine points in the win.
Chandler Davis had 18 of his game-high 24 points in the second half.
Eastern Florida State College will be back in action on Saturday afternoon, traveling to Indian River State College for a conference game at 2 p.m. The Titans will be back home on Wednesday, Jan. 28 against St. Petersburg College.
