Men's basketball team hosting Eastern Florida Classic Monday and Tuesday

The Eastern Florida State College men's basketball program will host the Eastern Florida Classic on Monday and Tuesday at Titan Field House on the Melbourne campus.

The tournament will feature two games each day beginning at 2 and 4 p.m. Eastern Florida State College, Florida Southwestern State College, East Georgia State College and Gordon State College will all compete in the tournament.

The classic will begin at 2 p.m. on Monday with Florida Southwestern playing East Georgia State with Eastern Florida State College facing Gordon State College at 4 p.m.

Eastern Florida State College will come into the tournament 8-3 on the season and are scoring 90.8 points per game this season. Freshman Sean Register Jr. comes into the tournament averaging 24.6 points per game which leads the FCSAA and is fourth in the nation. He leads a balanced attack that features six players scoring at least eight points per game.

Florida Southwestern enters the tournament 8-4 and have scored 90-plus five times this season, averaging 85.5 points per game. The Bucs have five players averaging at least 10 points per game led by Mason Blazer who is averaging 15.3 points.

East Georgia State College comes into the tournament 3-7 and has won two in a row after a slow start to the season. Myles Squirewell and Malik Hinton are both averaging 10 points per game while teammate Dakota Sellers has had back-to-back good games for the Bobcats.

Gordon State College is 4-5 on the season and have five players averaging at least eight points per game. The Highlanders are led by Christian Burnett who was named all-GCAA conference first team as well as to the all-freshman team last season. Burnett is averaging 14.7 points and 5.4 assists per game this season.

Games on Tuesday will also be at 2 and 4 p.m.
