The Eastern Florida State College men's basketball team's season ended Thursday afternoon at the FCSAA Tournament in Niceville.
The Titans struggled to find any kind of rhythm and lost to Pensacola State College 66-61 in the quarterfinals at Northwest Florida State College.
Pensacola State College, who came in as the No. 6 seed, jumped out to a 14-4 lead in the first six minutes of the contest and kept it for most of the first half. With eight minutes left, the Titans started to pick up the pace and cut the lead to five points on a Fredy-Salam Sylla basket, making it 25-20 Pensacola.
Down 32-27 at halftime, the Titans once again came out slow as Pensacola State College scored the first four points and got the lead back to 15 points before a Wes Isoje basket.
Once again the Titans began cutting into the lead and with four minutes left they were within four, 52-48. But that was as close as they would get as Pensacola State went on another 5-0 run.
Corey Caulker finished with a game-high 19 points and eight assists while Isoje scored 12 points and nine rebounds.
The Titans finished 23-7 on the season, marking the fourth straight season Eastern Florida State College has won 22 games or more.
