Titans to Recognize Four Players at Tuesday's Sophomore Night

Eastern Florida's men's basketball program will recognize four Class of 2016 players after Tuesday night regular-season home finale against Indian River State College.

Head coach Jeremy Shulman and his staff will honor forwards Djordje Beronja and B.J. Gladden, guard C.J. Jackson and center Zavier Peart.

The team also will celebrate its fourth consecutive FCSAA Southern Conference championship.

Admission is free. The 7 p.m. game will be telecast live on WEFS-TV and streamed live at www.efsctitans.com/webcast.

Beronja, a 6-7 sophomore from Novi Gard, Bosnia, is a two-year starter for the Titans at power forward who Shulman refers to as the "backbone of the team."

He has played in 27 of the Titans 28 games, starting 26 and averaging 23.6 minutes per game. He is averaging 10.3 points and 5.5 rebounds per game.

Gladden, of Charlotte, North Carolina, is a 6-6 transfer from the University of Akron who brought experience and leadership to a young team.

Gladden has started 27 games, averaging 26.7 minutes. He is averaging 12 points and a team-leading nine rebounds per game.

Jackson is a 6-1 point guard from Charlotte and Montverde Academy. This season he has been named the NJCAA Region 8/FCSAA Player of the Week three times and the NJCAA Division I National Player of the Week.

Starting all 28 games he leads the team in minutes at 32.2 per game. He is the leading scorer at 17 points per game. He also leads in assists at 4.6 per game.

A freshman he is eligible for graduation in May.

Peart, 6-9, hails from Miami and Coral Reef Senior High. He has played in 24 games this season, averaging 9.2 minutes. He is averaging 3.5 points and 2.9 rebounds.

Beronja and Peart are the winningest sophomores in Eastern Florida/Brevard Community College history with 54 victories to date in two seasons. The Titans also have lost just one game in the last 60 at home dating back to 2012.

All four players have attracted interest from NCAA Division I teams and could become the latest in a parade of former Titans to move on to four-year programs.
