Eastern Florida point guard C.J. Jackson is the NJCAA Region 8 Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending Jan. 31.

Jackson, a freshman from Charlotte, North Carolina and Montverde Academy:

• Averaged 21 points, 7 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 3 steals in three games during the voting period.

• Shot 51.3 percent (20-of-39) from the field, 52.4 percent (11-of-21) from the three-point line and 63.2 percent (12-of-19) from the free throw line.

• Led Eastern Florida State to a 3-0 record last week in FCSAA Southern Conference games on the road.

• Recorded a double-double (10 points, 11 rebounds) in win at ASA Miami.

• Poured in a career-high 44 points in a win at Indian River State. He shot 15-of-25 from the field and 9-of-14 from long distance.

"What an amazing week by C.J. Jackson, with one of the best performances in the history of Eastern Florida basketball," said Eastern Florida head coach Jeremy Shulman. "Outstanding young man and very deserving of this honor."

This is the second time this season Jackson has received the honor, the first time being in November for pacing the Titans to three wins in the Snow College Classic in Utah.

Eastern Florida is 9-0 in the conference and 21-3 overall heading into today's 6 p.m. home game against Miami Dade College, which will be televised live on WEFS and via webcast at www.efsctitans.com/webcast.
