Baseball team hosts St. Petersburg in final regular season games Saturday

The Eastern Florida State College baseball team is at home for the final two games of the season on Saturday.
The Titans, who are on a four-game winning streak, will host St. Petersburg College in a Citrus Conference doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. at Bruce Bochy Field.
Eastern Florida State College picked up a win Thursday night at St. Petersburg College as Chris Carroll had four hits while Ray Yero and Jacob Miller each had three in the 12-8 win.
Saturday will be the final game for 17 sophomores including Parker Trowbridge who is scheduled to make his final start with the Titans on Saturday. Trowbridge comes into the final weekend 5-4 with a 4.55 ERA. The left-hander has struck out 52 in 57 1/3 innings in 13 starts.
Carroll has been red hot the past two weeks, going six for his last 12 and has driven in six runs. For the season he is hitting .298 with a couple of home runs. The outfielder has 13 stolen bases and scored 34 runs.
Sophomore Jackson Wargo had a walk-off single in Tuesday's win and comes into his final weekend hitting .330 in 29 games. Ethan Askin is leading the team in hitting, batting .416 in 23 games this season while Hutson Guinn is hitting .333 in 30 games.
St. Petersburg College comes into Saturday's doubleheader sixth in the FCSAA in batting average, hitting .316 this season. Nick Upperman leads the state in batting average, hitting .440 in 41 games. Upperman is also second in the FCSAA in stolen bases with 31.
Saturday's doubleheader begins at 1 p.m. and admission is free to games at Bruce Bochy Field. Fans can also watch the doubleheader live online at the EFSC Titans YouTube page.
