Baseball team splits doubleheader, wins series
The Eastern Florida State College baseball team split a Citrus Conference doubleheader at Bruce Bochy Field on Saturday.

The Eastern Florida State College baseball team split a Citrus Conference doubleheader at Bruce Bochy Field on Saturday.
The Titans lost a close battle in the first game 5-2 but bounced back to post the 8-4 win in the second game and win the three-game series.
In Game 1, the Titans took the lead in the bottom of the first inning on an Omir Santos sacrifice fly. Down 3-1, Santos came up big again with an RBI double.
Indian River State College would score two more in the top of the fifth inning and went on to win the game and even the series.
In Game 2 the Titans had 14 hits as they broke a 4-4 tie in the eighth inning as Chris Carroll lays down a bunt and reaches on an error that led to two runs and Carroll making it to third base. He would score on Bryce Jackson's single to make it 7-4.
The Titans would add another run on a Jackson RBI single.
Jackson finished with three hits while Carroll, Omir Santos, Ray Yero and Ethan Askin each had two hits in the win.
Couper Gatch allowed three runs over six innings, striking out six and the bullpen allowed just one run over the final three innings.
Eastern Florida State College will hit the road on Tuesday, traveling to Polk State College for a non-conference game at 5 p.m.
