The Eastern Florida State College baseball team lost a tight Citrus Conference game on Thursday at Bruce Bochy Field.
The Titans lost 3-2 to the College of Central Florida in the first game of the three-game series.
Bradley Link tossed five scoreless innings but ran into trouble in the sixth inning as he would hit a pitch, then walk the next two before being replaced. All three runs would score in the inning and prove to be the difference in the game.
The Titans opened the scoring in the fourth inning as Jacob Miller hit a single with two outs and stole second base. Miller would score on Sage Adams single to make it 1-0.
Eastern Florida State College made it 2-0 in the fifth inning when Jake Richardson was hit by a pitch and went to second on Chris Carroll's sacrifice bunt. Bryce Jackson hit a ball that was thrown away and Richardson scored.
Down 3-2, the Titans had runners at third in both the sixth and eighth innings and two on in the ninth but could not tie the game.
Adams had two hits in the game.
Eastern Florida State College will travel to Ocala for a conference doubleheader at the College of Central Florida on Saturday afternoon.
