Baseball team loses to Daytona State College
The Eastern Florida State College baseball team lost a close game to Daytona State College Wednesday night at Bruce Bochy Field
The Eastern Florida State College baseball team fell to Daytona State College 2-1 on Wednesday night at Bruce Bochy Field.
Titans starter Tyler Vogel struck out a career-high eight over six shutout innings, allowing just three hits in the no-decision. Daytona State College starter Brody Maynard matched Vogel with six shutout innings.
The Titans would break the scoreless tie in the bottom of the seventh inning as AJ Mathis singled to lead off the inning and later scored on Kyle Dentmon's fielder's choice.
The lead would not last long as Daytona State College would score twice in the top of the eighth inning and hold on for the win.
RJ Diaz had two of the Titans three hits in the game. Zack Kornick allowed one run over two innings in the loss.
The baseball team will host CPCA at 6 p.m. Friday at Bruce Bochy Field.
