Baseball team tops Seminole State in 12 innings

The Eastern Florida State College baseball team defeated Seminole State College 3-2 in the 12th inning Saturday at Bruce Bochy Field.
With Jason Blackstone at second base with one out in the bottom of the 12th, Nathan Housen hits a single past the shortstop and into the outfield to give the Titans a victory.
"It was a fastball up and in, I knew they had been throwing me in the last two at-bats and I got jammed so I knew they would try again," said Housen who had three hits in the game.
Zack Kornick picked up the win, allowing one hit over three shutout innings, striking out three.
Seminole State College took the lead in the second inning, but the Titans tied the game in the fourth inning and took the lead in the fifth inning when Garrett Evans scored on Blackstone's fielder's choice.
The Raiders would tie the game in the seventh inning on an RBI double by Marcos Sevillano. Dominic Baratta relieved Trey Felker, tossing two shutout innings, allowing one hit to keep the game tied.
Eastern Florida State College will travel to Polk State College Tuesday for a 5 p.m. game and then host Daytona State College Wednesday at 4 p.m.
