Pastor, Hassett named Orlando Health Student-Athletes of the Week
Eastern Florida State College women's basketball player Amelia Hassett and women's soccer goalkeeper Lauren Pastor are named the Orlando Health Student-Athletes of the Week for the week ending Nov. 20
A pair of women's athletes excelled for their teams this past week and are the Orlando Health Student-Athletes of the Week for the week ending November 20.
Women's soccer player Lauren Pastor and women's basketball player Amelia Hassett are both honored for the first time this season.
Pastor, a freshman goalkeeper, recorded two shutouts to help the Titans reach the national tournament championship game where she made seven saves and allowed just one goal in overtime. For the tournament Pastor allowed just three goals. The freshman from Paris, France had 61 saves this season for the Titans and allowed just 11 goals, a 0.66 goals against average which was among the best in the nation.
Pastor was also named the Region 8 Goalkeeper of the Year this season, allowing just two goals in conference play.
Hassett, a sophomore forward, had 20 points and 17 rebounds as well as three steals as the Titans defeated Gulf Coast State College, who was No. 2 and unbeaten in the national poll, last Friday.
The Albury New South Wales, Australia native has recorded three double-doubles in the first five games this season and is averaging 16 points and 14 rebounds per game this season.
