Avery Velazquez, Softball
Eastern Florida State College softball player Avery Velazquez helped her team have a historic week and is the Orlando Health Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending April 19.
Velazquez went 11-for-15 with four doubles and three home runs, scoring nine times and drove in 16 runs.
Velazquez hit a home run in three of the four games and now has 11 home runs on the season which is tied for fourth in the FCSAA. She had multiple hits in three games and went 5-for-5 with five RBI in the second game against Hillsborough Community College.
In the first game against Hillsborough Community College, Velazquez and the Titans won 26-0 which set the program record for both most runs in a game and largest win.
The designated hitter is now hitting .397 with 61 RBI.
Eastern Florida State College will play Daytona State College on the road Tuesday afternoon and return home Saturday for a conference doubleheader against St. Petersburg College beginning at 1 p.m.
