Bawden wins individual title, men's golf team fourth at Wallace State
Eastern Florida State College sophomore golfer Brad Bawden opened the fall season by winning the Wallace State Fall Invitational on Tuesday
Eastern Florida State College sophomore Brad Bawden picked up his first individual medalist title with a couple of big putts at the Wallace State Fall Invitational Tuesday in Alabama.
The Hockley, England native dropped an eight-foot putt for birdie on his final hole to finish with a three-under 69 and force a playoff with Wallace State's Garrett Senia.
Bawden would then sink an 18-foot putt for birdie on the first playoff hole to capture the medalist honors.
Bawden finished the three rounds with a 72-68-69 for a 209, helping Eastern Florida State College finish fourth in the two-day invitational. Central Alabama won the team title with an 852 while Mississippi Gulf Coast finished five strokes behind.
Freshmen Kyle Decenzo finished with a 217 while Fraser Davren shot a 218. Ryan Rozic finished with a 225 and Michael Stewart had a 228.
"Awesome job by Brad Bawden!" Eastern Florida State College men's golf coach Jamie Howell said. "Tough day for the team but a lot to build on before our next event in Brewton, Alabama in two weeks."
