The Eastern Florida State College women's soccer team advanced to the Region 8 Finals with a dominating 7-1 victory over Broward College in the semifinals Friday evening at Daytona State College.
Sophomore Nathali Da Silva got things started in a big way, scoring three times in a five and a half-minute span to give the Titans the early lead.
"It's a good win, we worked hard all week in practice on finishing and it is really nice to see it pop in the game," said Lockwood who now leads the team with 14.
Da Silva's hat trick gives her 13 on the year as the Titans will play Daytona State College for the Region 8 title at 6 p.m. on Sunday night. Admission is $5 at the gate.
"Our ball movement was really good today, our starting 11 did a really nice job and our defense kept everything in front of them. We played really, really well and the movement off the ball was the best t has been," Eastern Florida State College women's soccer coach Jeff Carr said. "We have to get some rest, hydrate and get ready to play a really talented Daytona State team on Sunday."
The winner of Sunday's matchup will advance to the District H Tournament Nov. 3-4.
