Baseball team travels to Palm Beach State on four-game win streak

The Eastern Florida State College baseball team is riding a four-game winning streak into this week's Southern Conference matchup with Palm Beach State.

The Titans, who are 15-10 overall and 2-4 in the conference, will travel to Palm Beach State for the first game Wednesday at 4 p.m. and then will host the Panthers on Friday at 3 p.m. The final game of the series will be at Palm Beach State Saturday at 1 p.m.

During the current four-game win streak, the Titans have scored 37 runs in non-conference matchups while starters went 20 2/3 innings, allowing just three earned runs led by sophomore Tyler Keysor who tossed six innings of one-hit baseball last Thursday. The bullpen went 14 1/3 innings, allowing four earned runs and struck out 18.

Offensively, freshman Kevin Silva has gone 6-for-14 with six runs scored and six RBI in the last four games.

Palm Beach State comes into the series 18-8 overall and 4-2 in the conference. The Panthers are led by reliever Michael Demo who has a 0.64 ERA over 28 innings in eight appearances.

This weekend is the first of four series against Southern Conference teams for the Titans who are looking to make the FCSAA State Tournament for the fourth time in five seasons.
