Former Eastern Florida State College volleyball player Ashley Nolan will be competing on the CBS show 'Survivor' when the long-time television hit returns for its Fall season in September.
Nolan attended Eastern Florida State College when it was called Brevard Community College in 2009-10 and was a member of the volleyball team.
While the cast will not be officially announced until closer to the debut, the Hollywood Reporter talked to the captain/EMT with Brevard County Ocean Rescue and Satellite High graduate who was also featured in the Season 35 trailer with the theme 'Survivors: Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers.' Nolan will be one of the heroes on the show which will debut Sept. 27 at 8 p.m.
"What an exciting opportunity for one of our former student athletes to compete on one of the most popular reality TV series of all time - we wish her all the best!" Eastern Florida State College Associate Vice President of Athletics Jeff Carr said. "Hopefully she wins it all!"
Hosted by Jeff Probst, "Survivor" has been on the air since 2000. "Survivor" matches 16 or more contestants in an elimination contest that awards $1 million to the ultimate survivor. Season 35 was shot this spring in Fiji. The winner will be announced live on the final episode.
In the "Survivor" preview video, "Ashley the lifeguard" — a hero — says, "Being a lifeguard, when you run in the water to save someone's life, your adrenaline's going, your heart's pumping ... but out here, it's either sink, swim or get out of the ocean. For the first time in my life, I've got to let people sink, and I'm not going to take any mercy."
